November 1st Is World Vegan Day and Mana Is Joining the Celebration

Many vegans are vegans because they want to promote an environmentally friendly future. And at least once a year, they have an official occasion to do so. November 1st is World Vegan Day, and this year's celebration will be the 26th in the history of the event. Mana has reason to celebrate, too, as our products are purely plant-based and focus on sustainability for the well-being of our planet. Veganism has become more and more accepted as a lifestyle that can be practiced not only easily, but as a matter of common good, as it does not rely on animal-based agriculture—which is often wasteful—for the production of food or clothing. Even in rural areas, a growing number of vegan products are...

Be Determined, Not Afraid

I would like to inform you about the current situation in Europe and our readiness for events predicted to occur over the next few months. It’s been a while since I last published a personal blog. This is not because I haven’t written anything, but because things are happening so fast that many topics lose their relevance after just a few days. Since the beginning, Mana has been based on scientific principles, as well as utilitarianism, futurism, minimalism, and a little bit of optimistic science fiction. And it is precisely on these principles that we strive to make the future inspiring. For me personally, it is interesting to see that the previously unthinkable concept of food created through a mixture...

Cosmo Ape: The Strongest, Furriest, and Most Unusual Member of the Mana Team

Cosmo Ape, Mana's mascot, has been a permanent member of the team since we started in 2014. You can find him dancing around our products on the website, talking about Mana in our YouTube videos, and he even shows up from time to time at Mana events. So, we think it’s about time we gave him a proper introduction. Cosmo Ape is an intergalactic traveler, chemist, theoretical and practical physicist, craftsman, and more importantly - a member of the Mana crew! But what makes him so valuable to Mana? Above all, his expertise when it comes to nutrition! Indeed, he is an herbivore, yet he is one of the strongest animals in the world. He shows us that, contrary to...

Sustainability Is an Important Part of Our Mission. This Measure Just Saved 1,700 Kilos of Plastic.

In developing Mark 6, the latest recipe of Mana, it was naturally a priority for us to pack the greatest variety of nutrients from the widest range of sources into every serving. But, just as it is important for us to deliver top nutrition from quality ingredients, so it is essential for us to reduce the environmental impact of our operations wherever possible. This is why we decided to get rid of the plastic scoops that used to come with boxes of our previous recipe of ManaPowder. Since Mark 6’s release on January 1st, 2020, this measure alone has saved one ton of plastic. By the end of the year, it will have saved 1,700 kilograms of plastic. This is...

What Is the Glycemic Index of Food? Why Is It Important and How Does Mana Measure Up?

In order for our body to maintain all its vital functions, it needs energy. Energy is supplied primarily by carbohydrates, or sugars, and partially by fat and protein. Yet intake of carbohydrates, especially simple carbohydrates, can be harmful and even lead to diabetes. The glycemic index (GI) of a food indicates how the food behaves in our body once consumed. But what exactly does this mean and what does Mana’s GI of 29 say about it? What is the glycemic index? Simply put, the glycemic index expresses on a scale of 0 to 100 how fast a given food causes an increase in glycemia, i.e. blood glucose levels. Glycemic index may vary greatly between foods. Yet generally speaking, they fall...
